Penguin.........
I made about 50 of these to give out for a Christmas Bead Exchange I ran in 2006. They are easy once you get the hang of them.
1.Start with Red, Black and white Rods. And an orange stringer.

2.Using the black wind a medium size round bead...make it off center with one side larger than the other. Let the hot glass droop slightly.

3.Then flatten with your marver. ( so it sortof is a "paddle")

4.Heat the end of the white and stripe it down the front of the black to form his belly. Melt in completely.

5.Heat a pea size end on your black and place on top for head.
6.Attatch two small globs to the bottom for his feet. ( heat the bottom of his feet and stand him on your marver to shape them.) 7.
7.Heat the end of your black and swipe it down the sides of the white- not touching the mandrel for wings. When pulling black away- leave small "paddles" at ends for his wings.
8.Next is his eyes.. two dots of white on his face and melt them in flush.( be very careful to flash him and keep him warm) then place smaller black dots on top of them.
9.Using your Orange stringer, make his beak by touching it to his face then pulling back to form a small "kiss" shape.

10.If he is to have a hat - heat a pea size white blob and place on head. Flatten to head. then heat your red, and form its "cap" with a hersheys kisses look to it. Dont forget to add a small white "pom-pom"! ( this can easily be adapted to many holidays or themes.)

These always have such different personalitys that they are fun to do a whole army of penguins! They hang well because the hole goes horizontally rather than vertical.
They are so cute all lined up on string!
Share with your friends!
Have fun!
And if you have any questions at all- E-Mail me and I will be happy to help.
